boot log

I can't seem to find a log of the messages displayed during boot. I have an error involving my sound module Intel HDA, but it scrolls by so fast I can't read and retain what it says, exactly.

Re: boot log

You could use scroll lock to pause it or check the Wiki for the article on how to stop the screen from clearing.

Re: boot log

thanks loafer scroll lock worked. thanks xenofungus, but the dbus system message started immediately after the fail error and didn't log it. It said that /etc/asound.state didn't exist so I "alsactl store" as su. thanks again for your help.
