is there some specific directions from start to finish to install flash on 64bit.. it=s very useful to me.. and besides i use noscript/adblock plus..
so i just use it for a few sites..
ive read how some of the directions are not "factual" and it's asked for verification..
and gnash, etc dont work.. even installed vlc plugin, incase that worked..
but i'm at a loss...so any detailed directions to install flash on 64bit for either chromium or especially firefox would be most appreciated..
thanks
Edit 6/28- I used the nswrapper, and flash-debian and whatever the other one was from searching forums and this thread...
thanks it works well enough, specially in chromium.. in firefox its bout 70/30 (works/doesnt) so it's all good... anything to use arch 64 goodness..

dunno what the factual accuracy thing is about, it looks fine to me (just did this myself a few days ago)

Isn't it possible to install flash on Arch64 just by typing "pacman -Sy flashplugin"?
Never mind, I just saw this: http://www.archlinux.org/news/501/
Sorry!

yaourt -S nspluginwrapper-flash
nspluginwrapper -v -a -i
Excuse my poor English.

i've just re-installed my arch 64 partition and I read the stupid news from adobe (i'm not suprised).
If there's a problem with a recent release, why can't we downgrade to an older build instead?

Yea, I just noticed is was removed from the repos completely, not even deported to AUR?
Strange, especially as most of the discussion I've seen on other threads and mailing lists shows many people wanting to keep the 64bit flash even with the risk and preferring to take precautions by other means (flashblock etc..).
I didn't think they'll remove the option.

Arch provides the latest stable version from upstream. Arch does not provide packages that are known to be insecure.
Not that hard to work it out really.
If you want to use an older build, there are plenty of ways to either get hold of it or build it yourself. I'm using 10.0.42.34-1 myself, just reinstalled it from my cache.

Please disregard anything I said about using older builds - I misread the security bulletin.
All builds up to and including 10.0.45.2 are compromised.

No worries bro, thanks for the heads up.
For users who cannot update to Flash Player 10.1.53.64, Adobe has developed a patched version of Flash Player 9, Flash Player 9.0.277.0, which can be downloaded from the following link.

Adobe Flash Player 10 and later versions will not work properly on these operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 98
Microsoft Windows ME
Macintosh OSX 10.1-10.3
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4Download and install Flash Player 9.0.277.0, which is the latest version of Flash Player for these operating systems. Download it from the Flash Player Download Center. Or click the link that corresponds to your operating system:
Windows Flash Player 9
Internet Explorer: Download (1.46 MB)

Macintosh Flash Player 9
Mac OS X (Intel): Download (4.46 MB)

I'm gonna try the patched version by adobe.
Well that didn't go so well, noir did the other flashplugins in aur. But getting flashplugin from an older source worked perfectly!

OK... but that's the broken version...
Best solution IMO is to run the latest i686 flashplugin on x86_64 using nspluginwrapper.
