Hey guys, just recently installed arch on my laptop and I'm loving it so far, but there's one pesky issue I can't figure out.
If I happen to touch the trackpad with more than one finger the cursor on screen goes completely spastic. I've tried variations of the synaptics xorg config posted on the wiki and the one posted for my specific laptop but neither resolve the issue.
I'm not sure if my touchpad is multi touch capable or not, but either way I just want to stop the cursor from jumping all over when it happens. I have a habit of touching the edges of the touchpad with another finger sometimes and the spastic movement is starting to get really annoying

Do you have xf86-input-synaptics ?
Offline
Yes, xf86-input-synaptics 1.2.1-1 from the pacman repos.
I've noticed playing around with the EmulateTwoFingerMinZ and EmulateTwoFingerMinW values seems to help a little but hasn't really solved it
I just want to disable multitouch completely so it doesn't take any action upon contact with another finger.

Still haven't been able to solve this.. halp?

is it like that with any other OS/Distro? it might just be the pad itself
i know that one of mine went weird when i put two fingers on it, but maybe not to the extent you're having.
try a live cd if you have one
