Broken system after upgrading package-query

Hi,

I've a server (x86_64) and after updating the system with yaourt -Syu my server is totally unusable, very strange. Here is the output after the update:

==> Package upgrade only (new release):
core/glibc                2.12-2  2 -> 4
archlinuxfr/package-query 0.3-1   1 -> 2

==> Software upgrade (new version) :
core/libtool              2.2.8-1 -> 2.2.10-1
core/man-pages            3.24-1  -> 3.25-1
extra/libxfont            1.4.1-1 -> 1.4.2-1

Re: Broken system after upgrading package-query

pacman -Qo
/usr/bin/comm is owned by coreutils 8.5-2
/usr/bin/testdb is owned by pacman 3.4.0-2
/bin/awk is owned by gawk 3.1.8-1
/usr/bin/sort is owned by coreutils 8.5-2

Is everything ok with your mirror and your filesystem? You have multiple packages missing somehow.
And it looks like the problem was already here before you upgrade. glibc failed updating.

Re: Broken system after upgrading package-query

Unfortunately I'm not able to run any command.. what can I do? I don't have physical access to the server.

I've seen similar behavior with a misconfigured mirroslist file where the wrong architecture was selected. In your case, are you sure you really run a x86_64 system?

If you can boot, try a "lscpu" and "uname -a" for they can tell you.

I'm afraid I have no better recomendation for you than to reinstall the machine.

Re: Broken system after upgrading package-query

I got the same problem after pacman -Syu. Everything is broken -- I fixed it by manually installing glibc files, but it's broken again after pacman -S glibc in the running system.
