sound problem

:x Does anybody know how to fix this? I installed the alsa setup, and
    have been getting this error message since I first got kde working.

     Sound server informational message:
     Error while initializing the sound driver:
     device: default can't be opened for playback (Permission denied)
     The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
     
      Would appreciate a little assistance!! thanks in advance--
                                                                                      Larry 

     Anybod having trouble with "Wombat"? I swear I had less
     problems with "Widget"!!
