Crashes since updating to Xorg1.8

Hi

Since updating to Xorg 1.8, I seem to be getting fairly random crashes, mostly when using Chrome (but, only when entering a url seemingly), but just now when closing Okular (using KDE4 btw!)

This is part of the Xorg.0.log.old file:

After noticing the libglx entries, I tried disabling compositing, and so far it's been stable.  Has anybody else seen or experienced this?  Can I just put it down to a temporary glitch because of Xorg1.8 and the ATI driver?

What kind of graphics card do you have?
Xorg simply doesn't want to work for me, even though I have an ATi card as well.

Re: Crashes since updating to Xorg1.8

Good question ;-)  erm...  if I remember correctly, it's a mobile x1400...

try enabling kms. that seems to resolve a lot of issues.

Last time I had that enabled, I got random freezes and graphical corruption during boot.  I could try it again as I think there has been a kernel update since then...
