[Never Solved] After update, archlinux doesn't boot anymore

Hi, due a recent update (kernel related i think), during boot, the screen turns black and the monitor says 'no signal', right after udev init...

Only me having this problem?

ps. I found that while booting if i type random stuff on my keyboard, like CTRL+B CTRL+V etc. very fast, the system boots... LOL, but why?

Re: [Never Solved] After update, archlinux doesn't boot anymore

My first thought as I read your first paragraph was that the mkinitcpio script didn't work right, as I had that probelm not to long ago.

I would suggest using a live CD and rerunning mkinitcpio to produce new ram images. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mk … activation

I have this problem too.  I get the message "MKINITCPIO Failed - System may not boot" and it doesn't.  As of now, I'm using my Ubuntu Live CD.  Anyone please help!?

Have you tried running mkinitcpio again?

Re: [Never Solved] After update, archlinux doesn't boot anymore

I had the problem multiple times until I found the solution elsewhere on the forum.   The command:

mkinitcpio -b /mnt -p linux

solved the problem.  Giving all the correct parameters to mkinitcpio did wonders!  I made a note just in case this happens again.

Thanks for responding!

Please mark the thread [SOLVED] by editing your first post. Also consider adding something like "mkinitcpio issue", it will be more clear and easier to find to other people smile
