Hi,
I have samsung QX311 and I have installed archlinux on it. Firstly, I installed syslinux, but with no success. I couldn't boot to hard disk (just menu to HDD or CD). But with arch cd in drive, I could boot to existing OS, and installed system booted fine. The same situation with grub occured. Couldn't boot from HDD, but from CD then Boot existing OS from HDD and it booted fine.
What is going on? I have arch on other machine and didn't have such surprieses.
Please help.
EDIT:
Aaaah what a stupid mistake. /dev/sda1 partition with windows should have bootable flag and not /boot partition.
