evolution address book

I recently reinstalled arch using kdemod3 for DE & am running into some issues with evolution
1) I have entries in my contact list when I compose or forward an email click on the To:   my address book is empty
I did some googleing & searched the forums here thinking somebody has had the same issue but best I could find is some stuff from 2004 I'm guessing alot of that stuff would not be relevant. any ideas welcomed

2) how to get evolution password to be saved I tried some things found here in the forums that I know worked years ago but dont seem to do any good today.

dont know if this helps but heres this

user@localhost : evolution

(evolution:1585): evolution-network-manager-WARNING **: network_manager_query_state: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1

(evolution:1585): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: Unable to find password(s) in keyring (Keyring reports: Error communicating with gnome-keyring-daemon)

(evolution:1585): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: Unable to find password(s) in keyring (Keyring reports: Error communicating with gnome-keyring-daemon)

I really dont want to switch to thunderbird or kmail.

Re: evolution address book

Have you checked the evolution address book settings, there's checkboxes for whether you want a particular addressbook to be used in auto-filling.

Re: evolution address book

you talking
edit>preferences>contacts>always show address of the autocompleted contact
its unchecked
under mainpage of contacts right click on addressbook>properties>autocomplete with this address book
is also unchecked

putting a check in these boxes doesnt change what I mentioned

I did notice that if I put a "%" in the search field they all show up. it used to do this by default, it no longer does.
thanks

Re: evolution address book

I submitted a bug report on this very issue and apparently there is a patch available.

Bug report and patch: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660870

The only problem for me now is: I have no idea how to apply the bloody thing. When I do [patch -p1 < /path/to/patch] it says select file to patch. I guess it only works with source code, but it's too hard for me, given I don't have enough skill to do it properly. Guess, I only have to wait until it flows down to packaged version
