using kernel26, intel-dri, libdrm and xorg-server from testing the problem seems to be fixed. didn't test which package solved the bug. guess it's kernel26 ....

Just delete 'i915' and 'intel-agp' from 'MODULES' in '/etc/mkinitcpio.conf'.
It works for me

Still broken, in linux 2.6.34 on two generations of Intel graphics, GM965 and GM45. This is a disgrace for Linux, KMS is broken for months on top of everything else we have been through (lousy performance ever since UXA/KMS, various graphics corruption, freezing...).
You need to install an RTFM interface.

yeah, it's frustrating that the drivers are so buggy. with the current intel-driver i get random freezes when i'm running xscreensaver. writing bug reports feel useless, since nobody seems to care ...

Same problem, same solution. So it's only a problem with 'early' kms!?

This was fixed recently by Linus in this commit. Now available in 2.6.35 and 2.6.34.2-2, more information in this bug report http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/18334

Somehow this bug seems to have resurfaced
At least I'm having the exact symptoms described here on an Atom N475 netbook. Is there any way to debug this?
