I'm trying to install a package called "mkvtoolnix":
pacman -S mkvtoolnixas root, but pacman outputs the following error:

Run 'pacman -Syu' and try again. Theres a new version available: 5.0.1-1- updated four days ago http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?q=mkvtoolnix
Always make sure your system is up to date before installing new packages.

It worked. I was using Debian prior to Arch, and maybe that's why I didn't knew about the "pacman -Syu" before installing packages in Arch.
