kcminit krashes on startup

Hello,

I'm having problems with my KDE desktop. After login I get a message that kcminit crashed. When I click on 'close', KDE starts just fine.

However, many apps segfault when I try to start them: kmix, mplayer, kaboodle, amarok, etc. I have absolutely no clue why it happens or when it started. I hope someone can help me.

Re: kcminit krashes on startup

let me try a guess...
are you using testing repo?
then you probably run new qt that was compiled with gcc4
wait for kde 3.4.2 that will have fully support for gcc4.
It's just there to see if packages need rebuilds for gcc4 move.
thanks

I am running kdebase 3.4.1-4. I pacman -Syu at least once a day. I also tried pacman -Rd kdebase && pacman -S kdebase (kcminit is owned by kdebase, according to pacman) and started up kde as a new user, but to no avail. I am running hal and dbus, but disabling them did not help.

edit:
Maybe I should also note that gnome, xfce and others run just fine, but many apps still segfault.
