i've got vitualbox with such additional packages [GNOME3 DE]:
pacman -Qs virtualbox
local/virtualbox 4.1.4-2
Powerful x86 virtualization for enterprise as well as home use
local/virtualbox-archlinux-modules 4.1.4-2
Additions only for Arch Linux guests (kernel modules)
local/virtualbox-ext-oracle 4.1.4-1
Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack
launching virtualbox causes the following problem:
virtualbox
/usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libclearlooks.so: undefined symbol: gtk_check_version
i know that libclearlook.so belongs to gtk-engines package. looks like the problem of GTK2. Google didn't find anything to solve.
does anyone have ideas to fix that?

the string is libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 which links to /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libclearlooks.so.
can you do pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 and paste the output?
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

sure:
pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
/usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 belongs to gtk2 2.24.6-2
there was the problem with other applications using gtk2 and gtk-themes, i.e. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/26131

only you and that user have this problem.

I have the same problem with Hydrogen. Do you use XFCE as well?

Someone must be able to help us solving this? Why would gtk_check_version be expected in libclearlooks by an application that doesn't even use GTK?
