why is /var/log/boot empty

I have several Arch boxes and all but one logs to /var/log/boot which puzzles me.  What would be a cause of a zero-byte /var/log/boot?

Re: why is /var/log/boot empty

I'm not sure, but I have this line in my /etc/rc.sysinit:

bootlogd -p /run/bootlogd.pid

Do you have it?

Maybe something funny in your /etc/inittab then?
