Kernel Panic Help

Hi All

I have just done a clean install of arch + openbox having reverted back to a single boot laptop, but now i am having the occasional Kernel Panic crashes when i open certain apps like Thunar etc

How can i determine what the cause is and therefore find a way to fix the problem ?

Having done another clean install, i think the problem was installing jdk from aur using yaourt that was causing a kernel panic.  So for now i am using openjdk6
