I used Arch with Enlightenment until a short time ago, and sound worked perfectly, using pulseaudio. Also, when I opened alsamixer, I could select another sound card besides the generic one (HD-audio or something), where it had more "bars" to adjust, instead of only one bar from the default generic sound card.
Later, I migrated to Openbox, and not only I don't have sound, but I also can't select the other sound card in pulseaudio.
Did anybody else have this problem before? I also migrated from gdm to Slim at the same time, perhaps this influences something.
This is my /proc/asound/cards:
0 [SB ]: HDA-Intel - HDA ATI SB
HDA ATI SB at 0xfeb00000 irq 16
1 [Generic ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
HD-Audio Generic at 0xfdf40000 irq 45
Also, aplay -l finds no soundcards when executed from Openbox.
EDIT: Apparently, not only root can play sound on Openbox, but also my user can do it from a tty, even with Openbox open in another. Any ideas?
EDIT2: The network card is recognized if I login to Openbox from gdm, so it's definitely a Slim issue. Anyone?

Can you show me your daemons please?
(I'm an Openbox / slim user but I never had that problem so maybe it's got something to do with lack of specific daemons)
