Re: varch - Virtual machine builder for ArchLinux

A recent update in the Arch Installation Framework just introduced this bug, I found it just the other day. You need to edit the /etc/varch/base.aif file and add a TARGET_REPOSITORIES option. I will have a new version out that fixes that in the package soon, thanks for the find!

Re: varch - Virtual machine builder for ArchLinux

I guess this solution is outdated? Any chance to do some kind of server provisioning with ArchLinux installations?

Re: varch - Virtual machine builder for ArchLinux

Hi onny,
Sorry, I no longer am maintaining Varch, primarily because the AIF has been deprecated. I am working on a similar thing within the salt project, but it is still a ways out

Re: varch - Virtual machine builder for ArchLinux

Using this tool will it be possible to setup a custom vm to work on a public cloud? Say rackspace o amazon aws? I am guessing rackspace will be easier Since its based on openstack.

Thanks for the tool I am definetly going to give it a try soon

EDIT: sorry about that I didn't notice the post above this one (wrote my post while I was on Page 1)

Lets us know how the salt stack project is going big_smile
