Hello,
For days Im trying to do get a proper screenrecording with good sound quality. Im lost in information and would like some help. All interfaces like gtkRecordmydesktop etc, they all fail me.They die on me or dont do what i want: screenrecord with sound.
I use ffcast to make windowselection easier. After the -w flag you can use ffmpeg as normal. This is what I last used
ffcast -w ffmpeg -vcodec mpeg4 -b 8000k -f alsa -ac 2 -ab 192k -ar 44100 -i hw:0,0 -y test1.mp4
I tried and dont know it anymore. The recording is crappy, both video and audio. Anyone?

Tried recording only audio to see if the problem is with the capture?

I did with arecord, but for the hell of it I also did it with ffmpeg. No problems, a crisp sound.
I then again tried various command with and without ffcast. Not much difference.
One thing is that at start the movie file is sharp, but after some seconds becomes jittery. I think im giving up on this one. I really spent too much time on this already.
I forgot to mention the sound now is good, while i use the same flags

It might the a case of not enough cpu power. Depending on the resolution and fps you are trying to encode it might be too much for the cpu power you have available, or it might be a bug somewhere.
