mpd gimmix no cover art

Hi guys. I've been struggling to find a good audio player to manage and play my extensive music collection. I'm using xfce 4 so any gnome or kde apps look like $h!7 (sorry amarok). Then I found mpd which is perfect it integrates with conky and with a large selection of GUI clients one of them was bound to be .. um .. not fugly. Gimmix fits the bill. The only thing is that it is not getting Cover art or lyrics as it should.

Gimmix's website says:

For lyrics and/or cover-art plugin(s), you will also need the following packages:

    libnxml
    libcurl

Which I did. But I still don't get cover art or lyrics.

Does anyone have any sugesstions on how I can fix this? or perhaps sugesst a better mpd client?

Also, I'd like to use my multimedia keyboard to control playback (play | pause | back | next). is this a setting in mpd.conf or client specific?

Thanks.

Re: mpd gimmix no cover art

Hi, I have a similar problem with gimmix: Album Cover works but not lyrics and multimedia keys. Searching in web seems that gimmix not has multimedia keys implemented: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gimmix/+bug/264162
I guess this issue is related with the financial BeriOS problem http://developer.berlios.de/forum/forum … m_id=37450
Please, any can confirme us what happen with gimmix project. I like Gimmix more than Sonata, because this last, the album cover not works.
Thanks,
