For a long time HTML5 worked everywhere for me, but lately HTML5 mostly stopped working on YouTube. All that's happening is that I'm getting the "busy-spinner" for almost all videos. In fact, the only exception that I've found is the original WebM video with Leonardo DiCaprio. It's not a codec problem as I can see and hear H264, AAC, MP3, Vorbis, Theora, and WebM, everywhere else that I know that works. This happens on any libwebkit based browser except chromium. The details are that I'm currently running libav-git and all of the gstreamer libraries that I'm using are built on this machine. This setup works fine everywhere that's not Google.
Any thoughts?

I just tried it with surf and it works fine. I use ffmpeg and gstreamer from the repos.
Just in case: You do remember, that the gstreamer plugins have to be initialized? So you should try to rename the .gstreamer-0.10 folder, start e.g. gst-editor and then try it again.

Same for me with vimprobable2 with ffmpeg, gstreamer and the standard codecs: no issues with YouTube.
Tested with midori and all good as well.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I remember the whole ridiculous ordeal that I went through to get gstreamer initialized before, but HTML5 had been working perfectly for me for like a year, and that's using FFmpeg or libav for all of the codecs.
Anyway, today it's working again and I did nothing between the time that I wrote this and now. So, I blame jasonwryan for throwing his uber-former-mod-psychic-html5-youtube-killing gaze in my direction...

Do you want me to start policing your thread titles again?
I believe that you and I are at a stalemate old friend. We will meet again my clever adversary...
