Hey guys,
since I switched over to Linux some months ago, I got this problem regarding Flash. When I turn a Flash movie into fullscreen mode, the sound becomes distorted and somehow scratchy. I searched around the web for a while, but mostly I read about that problem concerning old versions of the Flash plugin (I'm using 11.0.1.152-1 from extra, but older versions had the same problem for me) or the 64bit version of the plugin (I'm using 32bit).
Can someone give me a hint on what could be the problem?
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop (Core Duo, Intel 945 Chipset, Intel HDA audio, Radeon Mobility X1400, ...) with PulseAudio, although the problem seems to persist when just using plain ALSA, kernel version is 3.0.0-lqx, but any other (modern) kernel I tried made no difference.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that this is an ATI X1400 specific issue, as strange as that sounds. I've got the same issue on my Dell E1505 (with an ATI X1400 card) and I've spent a fair amount of time trying to track down the cause of it, and it seems that many X1400 owners are experiencing that same problem.

hmm, this sounds interesting... I have other sound problems that may have to do with this, for example crackling noises that occur when sound is playing and I'm scrolling around or move stuff in some java applications (vue for instance) or JDownloader is open in the foreground and is doing something visible – but I'm not sure right now, whether this only is the case when I use my USB interface (Roland UA-25ex) as the main audio output, because I also get these crackling noises, when my cpu is too busy in the backround...

I just realized today that the official Google Chrome package with built-in Flash, a PDF reader etc doesn't suffer from full screen Flash audio distortions, at least not in YouTube and several other streaming websites I've checked.
I installed the following package from AUR: google-chrome
