[SOLVED] how often ntpd syncs with ntp.org?

Sorry, false alarm.

At first I intentionally set my clock wrong and tried /etc/rc.d/ntpdate. It corrected the clock as expected.
Then I set the clock wrong again and started ntpd, but nothing happened for the last 2 hours. What can be the problem?
/etc/ntp.conf:

server pool.ntp.org
restrict default nomodify nopeer
restrict 127.0.0.1
driftfile	/var/lib/ntp/ntp.drift
logfile /var/log/ntp.log
