Hi there,
been using arch for about a week now and have had no problems with pacman until today when i get this this message:
:: The following packages should be upgraded first :
pacman
:: Do you want to cancel the current operation
:: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n] y
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: packagekit: requires pacman<3.6.0Which pops up whenever i try to perform an operation in pacman, like -S, -Syu, -Syy.
It's not a fatal problem as i can just answer no and it continues as normal, but its quite annoying.
Thanks in advance

Please search the forums.
Why oh why are you using [testing] if you're not subscribed to the arch-dev-public mailing list?

Don't get me wrong, but you shouldn't use [testing] before you are more familiar on how to use it.
However, there are two solutions: Wait until packagekit is compatible with the new pacman or better use plain pacman without any unofficial frontend.

I was wondering if it wasnt the nouveau drivers that were the problem, it was a possibl fault in my installation of gnome-shell.
