Can I remove ttf-freefont from VLC package

...and will VLC work if built without freefont? ttf-freefont is ugly.

I think freefont is simply the default font. Just install an alternative and use that?

I know, but I don't want Freefont to be installed in my Arch at all.

Oh, well, it seems to work: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/23170

And I guess you could also modify freetype.c (mentioned in comment) to change the default. Edit: that's just the default for text on top of the video, though.
