Forum search problems this morning

While doing some forum searches, I started getting

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to search for posts.

Logged off and back in to see if it helped, it didn't.

Re: Forum search problems this morning

I've been getting the same errors since last night and they seem to be intermittent, because searches do work on occasion.

Not sure what's up with it.

Re: Forum search problems this morning

If it helps the person working on this matter any, here are some other errors that are popping up frequently since using the forums last night:

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to connect to MySQL and select database. MySQL reported: No such file or directory.

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to insert into online list.

Re: Forum search problems this morning

I too get these errors when I want to see a thread (click on the title) or subscribe to a thread - not all the time, about 50%. Refreshing page "fixes" things.

We might have fixed those issues but are still investigating. The posts table of FluxBB was corrupt.

In general try to contact us immediately on any errors even if they seem to resolve on page refresh.

Sure, just tell us which way is best. Posting a thread helps other forum members, it means they're not the only ones having problems, so it serves a purpose too.
I used the 'Report' link to contact forum admins / devs - is there a better / faster way? Should I e-mail you directly?

Re: Forum search problems this morning

It has been suggested that contacting Ioni, Florian and Pierre + posting on the arch-general ML that you e-mailed them (so our dear Arch Overlords don't get spammed with 'forum is down!!!111' e-mails) is the proper reaction.
