Haven't been around here in a while!
I had been using Ubuntu (natty..? whichever one came out in the spring time) for a few months, but just wiped it out and installed Debian stable. This is much better.
The most notable thing, even though it's hiding behind acme in my screenshot, is an mplayer frontend called pymp. I just found it today. My seemingly never ending search for a comfortable and simple way to play music has almost come to an end! I was considering making my own frontend for mplayer - and I probably will eventually, one that is even more simple than pymp - but this will keep me happy for now.
Isn't Debian Stable lacking up-to-date stuff for a laptop?
Also, which WM are you using?

Hi,
My desktop, nothing fancy, but I like it uncluttered.

It's not lacking anything that I'm aware of! My netbook is 3 years old already, and Squeeze became stable near the beginning of this year, so Debian stable ought to be fine.
The window manager is rio from plan9port.
I've seen young people waste their time reading books about sensitive vampires. It's kinda sad. But you say it's not the end of the world... Well, maybe it is!

Part of the reason I decided to use Arch on my laptop was that Debian lacked full hardware support for it, and Google revealed unto me a few choice AUR packages that fit the bill.
It's a newer laptop, though; if it was a little bit older I would expect Debian to have caught up - Debian testing or unstable, anyway.

With my netbook the only problem - regardless of whether I choose Debian or Arch - is wifi not working out-of-the-box (broadcom-wl), but it can be made to work. Though I use wifi so rarely that it seems too much of a hassle to setup.

Still a lot of customizing to do, I'm pretty new to Arch, and it's almost a fresh system. But this setup works fine at the moment

Sometimes, when I'm trying to get any audio software or hardware working with my system, I wonder why I ditched Windows. But every time I work at a windows computer, I remember it again.

still dwm, but with tamsynmod font https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=53507 . I added some status icons to the excellent tamsyn font 8x15 and renamed it tamsynmod. It's just about perfect for my netbook screen.

In case you still want it, I uploaded it here.
Nice desk but Remilia is weak.

It's good to see someone who knows Touhou. Remilia is my favorite character, so that explains why I chose that picture for my wallpaper.
