Can't update system: nvidia-173xx: requires kernel26>=2.6.36

Hi

Trying to update system but can't start as get the following error message:
nvidia-173xx: requires kernel26>=2.6.36

I have searched the forum but other topics don't help too much.

Any idea how to continue with the upgrade?

The packages were removed from the repos with the advice to use nouveau:
