Hi everybody!
As far as I know Chris Mason, the developer of the btrfs filesystem announced to introduce a working btrfsck tool which is capable of fixing errors at the LinuxCon Europe. Unfortunately I have not found any further information nor do I know if he actually introduced it at the LinuxCon. So does anyone know anything about that yet? And more important, are the btrfs-progs being updated to Chris' release including a error fixing btrfsck?
Maybe somebody knows more about it being released or not?
Thanks!

Googling helps - here's a recent article: http://lwn.net/Articles/462543/ , among many others out there.

Thanks for the links, but I already knew about them. Meanwhile on the Mailing list Chris Mason announced a working btrfsck tool to be released at the Linuxcon Europe. This happened AFTER the article you guys mentioned above.
So I was wondering if he actually did release this tool yet of if there will again be another delay for it (which is happening for about 11 months now or even longer).... but meanwhile I found an article that said there are new btrfs-progs being released that include a scrub function but they still have no working fsck tool included yet.
So will the btrfs-progs package being updated nevertheless? Does anyone know anything about that? Thanks!

The main Btrfs developer, Chris Mason, has issued a new release of the btrfs-progs.
So will the btrfs-progs package being updated nevertheless?
New upstream release means new arch package, so yes.
