No, it does not.

Not? Looks fine for me:
http://ompldr.org/tYWxjMA
.

Looks fine, except:

- Panel buttons padding problems.
- Missing styles for hotplug.
- Missing styles for contacts.
- The status menu doesn't look right.
- Huge buttons in the 'remove devices' section.
- Searching for something will probably cause a GS freeze.
-...

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

@Jodell I concur. I have Intel 965Q integrated graphics (still a generation or two back) and I haven't experienced any such problems. I have yet to test on the new line of processors, however.

Empathy stopped opening in the background for me last night- not sure why, since I haven't updated. However, everything seems to be working just fine- much better than it had in the Ubuntu Beta.

Has anyone figured out how to get Gmail notifications to work.  For me it's the feature that I waited for the most, and I would really like to get it to work.

GNOME 3.2 might be able to annoy you running on Intel hardware.

Whether you have a computer based on Intel graphic cards (e.g. Core i3, i5, i7 or any other Intel processor with integrated GPU) and you have got serious issues running GNOME 3.2, such as not-repainting screen, painful delay to draw window contents and/or other annoying stuff absent on previous desktop version. Then, take into account if you enabled some problematic power-saving feature in boot arguments of Linux kernel.

By the way, we can seek information about at Phoronix web site,

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a … i915_power

The option below has been problematic for me, so I've disabled/removed it :-(

i915.i915_enable_fbc=1

I am using an i7 sandy bridge processor and I have never experienced what you are describing. Keep in mind that I even used the beta.

I also have all those power options enabled.

Seems like the problem is on your end, or I'm just special.

Thanks @Jodell,

In spite of the fact that I experienced the same problem when I tested the release candidate (3.1.92), I haven't thought that it is widespread, hence I just pointed to a possibility.

Indeed, according to Phoronix's Web site,

"Frame-buffer compression is not enabled by default since for some systems when frame-buffer compression is active there is a bug where the screen is not being properly repainted when using a compositing window manager"

Maybe I have a buggy hardware configuration, Intel Core i3 Mobile (Nehalem microarchitecture) with integrated graphics controller Intel Iron Lake Mobile; albeit I was not faced with the issue when using the previous stable desktop (3.0) or fallback mode in the current one (3.2).  So I suppose that it might be a new feature, or perhaps a regression of mutter window manager, which is causing the specific problem for me right now.

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

Something curious i've just noticed... (i know Gnome3.2 is now in testing, but as i don't want to "unstabilize" my whole system just for Gnome, i still have the gnome-unstable distro).

% pacman -Qdt
gnome-control-center 3.2.0-1

(i don't remember if it was the case with Gnome 3.0...)

I understand that gnome-control-center is not "required" by anything, but admit Gnome3 would be rather strange without it, isn't it ?

I wouldn't screw around with those options too much anyway. From looking at the driver code and doing some tests most of the tips given on the phoronix site are either enabled by default or have neglegable benefits.
The option that actually makes a difference is enabling RC6 so if that works on your machine you're good to go.

Re: GNOME 3.2 beta2 available in gnome-unstable

I'm using empathy with msn network.
Whenever i press "enter" inside an IM window to send a message, that window closes along with the irc chat window i have open.
It's making the program unusable.

I tested deleting gnome settings & empathy configuration but the problem still persists.
Anyone else?

Yes me too...waiting for a fix!
In gnome3.2 beta that feature worked out of the box, perfectly for me. But now it stopped working for some reason...
