Hi everyone, I've been unable to configure/use the integrated webcam on my ASUS laptop.
I did a fresh install yesterday, but it seems my webcam can't be recognized. Been googling all day, but nothing useful came up. I also tried the wiki, but that didn't help either.
The output of lsusb isn't helping much either, I can't seem to identify if the webcam is detected:

dmesg is more interesting:

[ 6.522704] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device USB 2.0 UVC VGA WebCam (13d3:5710)

I tried the stk11xx driver from the AUR, but got the following complaint (package is flagged out of date too ofcourse):
error: target not found: kernel26>=2.6.29
It's pretty obvious this won't work to, since I have a 3.0 kernel...
Anyone had experience with the right driver for this webcam? uvcvideo is obviously not working, I tested with skype and gucview.

Anyone who might have the same problem, in linux-uvc-devel someone posted a message that they found an unsupported webcam, being this type ofcourse. See the link to the post to the mailinglist.

Kernel 3.1.0-3 fixed it! I also got rid of the problem where udev tries to mount the audio output as an input device, boot is superfast now.
