Broke my sound on Acer Aspire One 722

So, I had alsa working fine, except for headphone detection. Foolish I tried to fix it by putting

snd-hda-intel model=acer

in the /etc/modules.d/sound.conf file.

Then, I rmmod -f the snd-hda-intel module and restarted alsa. No sound.

So, I removed the sound.conf file and made everything the way it was, and still I have no sound.

I have reinstalled the alsa-lib and alsa-plugins packages, and even have reinstalled the kernel, but still no sound.

Help!

Re: Broke my sound on Acer Aspire One 722

I solved it in a very strange way. I installed oss, and played some music with that. Then, I uninstalled oss and rebooted. Alsa sound worked fine!

So, mark this solved, but darned if I know how or why.
