As you can see, PGP key import sometimes fails with message:

error: key "Dave Reisner <d@falconindy.com>" could not be imported

and after a few tries it is successful. What could be the problem?
Deleting /etc/pacman.d/gnupg/* and doing pacman-key --init again didn't help.

P.S. I should mention that I think this started to happen when I recreated a user (because /home/user/ folder got accidentally deleted).

Re: PGP key import sometimes fails

I've had a similar situation once or twice, so it may have nothing to do with your accidental /home/user directory removal. It started happening 2 or 3 days ago.

Re: PGP key import sometimes fails

I've no idea why you suspect this to be related to removing your user's $HOME when pacman is run as root here. More likely it has to do with the keyserver sucking. hkp://keys.gnupg.net is a round robin resolver, so its possible you get a bad server.

Re: PGP key import sometimes fails

Just got

error: jshon: key "396E3E25BAB142C1" is unknown
:: Import PGP key BAB142C1, "Kyle Keen <keenerd@gmail.com>", created 2011-02-03? [Y/n]
error: key "Kyle Keen <keenerd@gmail.com>" could not be imported
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

Running pacman again did the trick.

Re: PGP key import sometimes fails

Even when the key import seems to fail the next try accepts it without a second attempt to import it again. So it seems the key is imported into the keyring but pacman fails to recognize it at first.

FWIW I have read the wiki and put "SigLevel = Optional TrustAll" in pacman.conf.

Run

LC_ALL=C <command>

to get output in English.
If you enabled C locale, it should work.

Have you tried it a couple times? Do you have

SigLevel = Optional TrustAll

in pacman.conf?
