Hi,
I'm installing arch via PXE on my old thinkpad and I keep getting stuck on the package selection stage.
After 5 to 10 minutes of 'Refreshing package database' pacman fails to open the db files (including core.db) at /tmp.
I've tried it several times from several mirrors and the outcome remains the same.
How can I solve this?

I've been switching mirrors for the last 2 hours or so. FTP, HTTP, official.
I'll keep trying but if there's a way around it I think that now is the right time to try it.

There is no "official" mirror. ftp.archlinux.org is a tier 2 mirror meaning it syncs roughly once an hour from a mirror upstream. The tier 0 mirror is inaccessible to the public.

If you switch mirrors, you need to forcibly refresh your mirror list with -Syy.
