Thinkpad halts on ‘Switching to clocksource tsc’

A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E325 laptop and so far it works fine (I didn't check every feature, yet). However, when I try to build a custom kernel including ck- and bfq-patches I can't get the system to boot: every time it halts when ‘Switching to clocksource tsc’:

(sorry, no better photograph available.)

After a minute or so the screen gets distorted and I get this result:

Even when I base .config on stock Arch's (with only a few options disabled I really don't use), I get this behaviour. Last .config is here.

For completeness' sake, I also uploaded the result of lspci -vv.
