Hi,
When booting the installation media, is there an option to load it to RAM so I can remove the USB flash drive? Debian allows you to add "toram" to do this. It's really useful when installing/running tasks on multiple computers; to have them running simultaneously using one USB flash drive.
Thanks

If I still have my USB stick in (or if I remove and then reinsert), is there a way to write my changes to the OS (persistence) at shutdown (or at certain intervals)?

No. Persistense works all time on desired device. There is no way, at least for now, to work on tmpfs (write cow files on it) them copy these files on shutdown. But this can be implemented in a future.
