Kernel 3.1 and KDE4 sound

After upgrading to Kernel 3.1, there is no sound in my KDE4.
Using XFCE4, there is sound and downgrading to Kernel 3.0 resolves the issue.

I wondering why is it working with XFCE4 as both should be using GStreamer backend.

Re: Kernel 3.1 and KDE4 sound

Maybe something with alsa? After a kernel-update I get an alsa error-message at boot, until I save the settings again. Also I have no problems with sound in KDE4 (and kernel 3.1).

master and speaker control was interchange with kernel 3.1. I have to use alsamixer or add the speaker channel to kmix

Re: Kernel 3.1 and KDE4 sound

I have lost KDE sounds as well.   No system sounds (startup, shutdown, etc).  No sound from Amarok.  However, mplayer works just fine.  I knew it happened after an update, but never made the 3.1 kernel connection.  Unfortunately, I no longer have a 3.0 kernel lying around to verify this.

Also, my sound devices produce sound when using the test button in the Phonon system settings.
