[Solved] Multi-Users: MPD

Hi, so a while ago i started using mpd and really like. I have it starting up a daemon at boot, and I have an http stream up and running through mpd's conf file. I have successfuly connected to it froma pc outside of my home network with no problem, so my current configuration is working. My friend and I want to set up mpd so we can both use it from my machine, but listen to different songs and such. After reading the wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mpd  on multi users for mpd, I am a little confused on how to go about this. My questions that I hope some of you can help me answer are: Do I have to reconfigure mpd as a per user, or is there a way to do this while its is in my rc.conf?    and if I do have to set it up as a per user basis, how would I set up the file permissions so that we would both share the same music library?    Thanks for any insight

set up one .mpdconf file and copy it to each users home folder. The only thing you need to change is the port mpd is listening to and the http output port.

And no, there is no way to do this with rc.conf. Mpd needs to be run as users for your usecase.

He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.

Thanks for the reply. Since I did a fresh install to set this up I, I wanted to make sure I was going about it the right way. Works perfectly.
