Cannot Hear Audio From GStreamer-Backed Applications

I'm currently trying to get audio to play through any application using the default gstreamer back-end. I've installed all of the gstreamer plugins I should need (mainly for mp3 support). Here is that list:

extra/gstreamer0.10-bad 0.10.22-2 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Bad Plugin libraries (gst-plugins-bad)
extra/gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins 0.10.22-2 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Bad Plugins (gst-plugins-bad)
extra/gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.35-1 [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Base plugin libraries
extra/gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.35-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Base Plugins (gst-plugins-base)
extra/gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.12-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
    Gstreamer FFMpeg Plugin
extra/gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.30-1 [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Good plugin libraries
extra/gstreamer0.10-good-plugins 0.10.30-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Good Plugins (gst-plugins-good)
extra/gstreamer0.10-python 0.10.21-1 [installed]
    Python bindings for GStreamer 0.10
extra/gstreamer0.10-ugly 0.10.18-4 [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Ugly plugin libraries
extra/gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins 0.10.18-4 (gstreamer0.10-plugins) [installed]
GStreamer Multimedia Framework Ugly Plugins (gst-plugins-ugly)
extra/libcanberra-gstreamer 0.28-2
    GStreamer plugin for libcanberra
extra/phonon-gstreamer 4.5.1-1 [installed]
    Phonon GStreamer backend

I've ensured that the mixers are unmuted for the default sound card. There are multiple sound cards (including ones provided through HDMI which I'm not using now). I've verified this because I can play audio online (YouTube videos work for example). I've also made sure my user in the audio group.

When trying to play audio from Exaile or Banshee, the song loads and indicates that it is playing the file. However, I cannot actually hear the audio.

I ran Banshee with --debug set, but was unable to see any immediate errors. A sample of the output is below (I can provide the full output if desired):
