After upgrading and rebooting my audio stopped working. I opened the audio manager and it shows me everything normal. Opened alsamixer and everything fine too. I got curious and played arround with my plugs thinking maybe sound was been send to another hardware output and found a weird thing, when I plug my headphones just to the middle, everything works, all sound is heard on my speakers but not on my headphones. If I push the plug all the way in, it stops working, when I pull it out sound weird for 30 secs and then shuts off. Sound manager looks ok. I think it's new kernel's fault but not shure. What can I do?
(Everything worked ok until this upgrade)

Well, it seems there's something definetively wrong with the audio in 3.1. There're some other threads with similar problems (some people had to downgrade other just got luck).
Me myself, I don't have any audio with 3.1 (Conexant CX20549 Venice integrated) even after unsetting MM in alsamixer. No alsa, no oss, no pulseaudio...
So, as suggestion, you can a) try to trace the problem origin and submit a bug report and b) meanwhile downgrade the kernel. If you can't reach a) at least can have the audio back... as I had to do :-(
