I just updated to couchdb 1.1.1. When starting the server with the new version I always get the error: "Incorrect disk header version"
When deleting all my databases in /var/lib/couchdb/ I can start and use the server just fine - but all my old data will be lost in the process.
Anyone else with that problem? I tried it on two different Arch installations - one with 32 bit and one with 64.
If you have couchdb running on a production system be careful. This will break your application!
I wanted to file a bug, but I can't seem to get an account for the bug tracker (at least not in a reasonable amount of time).

Same problem here.
Couchdb's previous version was 1.2.0pre something, taken from SVN (really bleeding edge) so probably there's no compatibility between this stable release and the previous one. Just my guess, though as I couldn't find anything googling for the error.

Maintainer updated couchdb (couchdb-1.2.0-1git20111115) but this version is clearly a developer snapshot ("Futon on Apache CouchDB 1.3.0a-") and three tests in the test suite fail (bug opened: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/26920)
(Can someone move this thread to pacman & upgrade issues?)

Done.
To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.
