Audacious has dropped alarm clock feature. Alternatives?

From here:

Some unmaintained plugins could not be ported to GTK 3 and have been dropped: alarm, evdev-plug, ladspa, lirc, paranormal, projectm-1.0, spectrum, and streambrowser.

I used this plugin as my alarm clock every morning. Is there any alternative? I like to have a big playlist I can shuffle through and pick one to play when the alarm goes off.

EDIT: audacious 3.1 has now been released, and it does have the alarm plugin back. Yay!

I've ported the alarm plugin to GTK 3 now, so it will be in Audacious 3.1.  For now you might want to downgrade to 2.5.4.

You can install the LTS version of audacious (2.5.4) from here:

PD: I have a similar issue with the LADSPA plugin.

A new LADSPA plugin is also in the works, but will take a bit longer, since the old one was beyond rescuing.

Just saw that 3.1 is out, so I updated and saw that alarm is back! Thanks for that, jlindgren! smile

Hmm, currently Audacious 3.4 is out and I wonder; does the alarm plugin works when computer is suspended?

Aside from the necrobump, it seems simple to install it and find out for yourself.
