Asmedia Sata Controller and Linux

Hi All

Built a new system today, got an asus board that has both intel sata and Asmedia sata. I have one HDD connected to the Asmedia controller as all others are full, but i cannot get nix to see the hdd, fdisk shows nothing.
lspci:

04:00.0 PCI bridge: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM108x PCIe to PCI Bridge Controller (rev 01)
[b]06:00.0 IDE interface: ASMedia Technology Inc. Device 0611 (rev 01)[/b]
07:00.0 USB controller: ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1042 SuperSpeed USB Host Controller

the one in bold is the one i am trying to access i presume, googled but didnt find much, anyone had this issue before.

What do you see in post bios for bootable devices?

Comes up fine in bios, can see it as it boots so it is detected.

ls dev   If the unit is usb3.0 try lsusb.  Dunno if your device is pcie or mobo provided.  Very little info on the asmedia devices and slow to adopt them in the industry,

Yeah its not looking good might just go by a stat card that has support
