[SOLVED] "USB disconnect" message when using mouse scroll

Hello,

It's the strangest problem ever. On my T400 laptop whenever I use my Genius Optical mouse scroll button (scroll up/down) the kernel detects this as a "USB disconnect" msg. Here's output from dmesg when I try to scroll up or down once:

localhost kernel: [ 6365.501324] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, address 26

When I scroll back up or down again, it prints:

localhost kernel: [ 6370.010064] usb 3-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 27
localhost kernel: [ 6370.188859] usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
localhost mtp-probe: checking bus 3, device 27: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1"
localhost kernel: [ 6370.216068] input: Genius Optical Mouse as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input66
localhost kernel: [ 6370.216186] generic-usb 0003:0458:003A.0004: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Genius Optical Mouse] on usb-0000:00:1a.0-1/input0
localhost mtp-probe: bus: 3, device: 27 was not an MTP device

I only have this issue since a couple of hours on 2.6.32.48-1-lts.
[EDIT] -> Reproduced on 3.1.1-1-ARCH as well.

What I did so far:

1) Tried to put echo -1 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/usb3/power/autosuspend.  But that really is not the case as it seems.
2) Tried to reload the usbhid module:  modprobe -r usbhid; modprboe -a usbhid . But,  no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Re: [SOLVED] "USB disconnect" message when using mouse scroll

Seems like a hardware issue. I tried another USB mouse and it was all ok. Please close this topic !
