So I finally got Arch up with KDE. Gnome really did not agree with my vid card. I'm still learning a few things that are basic. I'm going through the process of installing a PDF reader from a tar.gz and I keep running into the PKGBUILD file not being there after I run tar -xzvf.
Is this a file that you have to manually build and if so which portions of it are needed. I've read the PKGBUILD wiki already. I'm going through the AUR wiki and it's just not working for me. And while on the topic, which PDF readers are typically used or performs best with Arch?

What package are you trying to build exactly?

It's Adobe reader. I downloaded the tar.gz I normally use Foxit on my windows boxes because it's not as bloated. I extracted the tar and went to the next command nano PKGBUILD and it opens a new file. The config file is there, but not the PKGBUILD. I have no real preference to which reader I use, so long as I can view PDFs.

There is a PKGBUILD in the Tarball of acroread on the AUR.
Edit: but you didn't specify exactly which package you were trying to build... There are tens of packages for adobe reader...

AdobeReader_enu-8.1.7-1.i489.tar.gz is the exact package that I downloaded. I do not like the i486 aspect of it which I just noticed. That could be my issue.

A link to the package would be useful. It doesn't look like an Arch / AUR package.

Linux -> English -> Reader 8.1.7 English for Linux(.tar.gz) are the options I chose. I chose that because it looked like the best options for the job.
