Compiz crash when executing a video [SOLVED]

I'm currently running Arch 64 using Compiz and Emerald.

Whenever I try to play a video using Mplayer or VLC, regardless of the video, as soon as the player opens X crashes and I'm thrown back to tty1, with errors appearing from different programs having no resources. I'm still in my learning stages of Linux, so where could I find some logs to look at and post here so I can possibly get a better look at the issue? I'm guessing I'm looking for X server logs. If I can find the logs for this I'll probably be able to fix it myself, I notice log files in Linux are very verbose.

I doubt that hardware resources are a problem, I have Radeon 4870 and 6GB of DDR2 RAM with a Q9550 processor.

Re: Compiz crash when executing a video [SOLVED]

Fixed it, turns out it was giving out because it wasn't set to displaying on my X server, I had to set VLC to X11 and audio to ALSA.

Why it didn't automatically go to ALSA beats me, for some reason my Intel audio card moved to device 0 when it was set as device 1, which it was, yesterday? :S. Oh well.
