Hiya,
I upgraded to an Asus P8Z68-V Pro mainboard with i7 2600K cpu from an MSI mainboard with AMD X4 and added an extra Nvidia GTX480. Since then, suspend is no longer working. It is not Arch specific as it doesn't work in Fedora16 either. In Windows7 it works fine (after disabling hybrid suspend). I suspect the intel graphics integrated in the CPU but am not sure about this.
When suspending from X, the HDD's powerdown, but the fans keep running and the screen doesn't go off.
When quitting X and then suspending it works properly, but when resuming I get a black screen.
pm-suspend log does not say anything useful:
Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00logging suspend suspend:

Mon Nov 21 15:20:09 CET 2011: performing suspend
I have messed around with the s3 parameters to pm-suspend but to no avail. My Nvidia's are not configured in SLI, if that matters at all.
How can I pinpoint this ?
Offline
Have you tried NVIDIA specific settings?
I suspect the intel graphics integrated in the CPU but am not sure about this.
I suspect it should be integrated into motherboard at least.
Can you post your dmesg after resuming from pm-suspend and your lspci to clarify what hardware you possess?
# dmesg
# lspci
UP: lsusb might be helpful as well

Here's the dmesg output when doing pm-suspend when X is not running and then resuming (as said in X suspend does not work at all):

Note that after suspend/resume without X everythiing seems to work except the graphicscard. The console is not displayed and when I start X through an SSH session I get a black screen still.

Well it's definetely the nvidia driver. I just tried nouveau and it suspends and resumes correctly from X and console. Nouveau gives me weird colors though (violet what should be blue) so it's not really usable.
Any stuff I can try with the nvidia driver to get this thing to work ?
Update, I'm lost now. If I unload nvidia before suspending resume doesn't work either. So nouveau is doing something to make this work properly that is currently missing, but what ?

Well I finally downgraded to the Nvidia 280 driver (with ignoreABI on in xorg.conf) and now it's working properly. The 290 beta driver has the same problem btw.

So, nvidia driver downgrade completely resolved your problem?
Offline
Yes. Not too happy with this situation but at least it works and I guess Nvidia will hopefully fix this in the near future.
