Havent been able to update since august

I wanted to know if I will be able to update my computer because I havent updated since august do to my being in the army. I wanted to know if I could successfully update. I know that it wouldnt update the database till I tweaked the mirrorlist and now I have many updates to install but pacaur and yaourt are not telling me any of my aur packages need updating but I can clearly see that is wrong.

I wanted to know peoples opinions on updating after this long period of time. Will I be able to successfully update my regular packages and then worry about aur after???

As long as you read all of the news that applies for that period -- and make the necessary changes, it should be fine.You will then need to rebuild your AUR packages.
