A warning to those using duplicity to manage their backups. It seems that, at least in some cases, version 0.6.16 labelled previous (successful) backups as 'incomplete' and deleted them (but not their signatures) during cleanup (https://bugs.launchpad.net/duplicity/+bug/881727). The result for me was that it was deleting each backup immediately after it ran.
The problem seems to be fixed in the latest version (0.6.17), but I had to invoke a full backup manually to get an intact backup - otherwise it still thought that the previous backups existed, based on the intact signature files, and ran an incremental.
So, best to upgrade and re-run your full backups.
