Mutt delay when opening mailboxes

I use mutt to write and read emails quite frequently. I change folders a lot and am finding it quite annoying that mutt has about a one second delay when switching mailboxes. I have header caching turned on, so once the message "Mailbox is unchanged" or "x kept, y deleted" disappears, the mailbox opens very quickly. However, the message is displayed for a short while and I'm sure it's because of a deliberate delay. Anyone have the same problem and know how to fix it? I have looked in the code but haven't found the source of the delay.

Hi,

have you tried setting `sleep_time` in your .muttrc?

set sleep_time=0
