Lost of hardware acceleration (ati)

Hello,

during todays update I lost hardware acceleration of catalyst.
The relevant messages are

WARNING: Couldn't open directory /lib/modules/3.1.1-1-ARCH: No such file or directory
FATAL: Could not open /lib/modules/3.1.1-1-ARCH/modules.dep.temp for writing: No such file or directory

coming from the catalyst-utils package, since

ls /lib/modules

results in

3.1.2-1-ARCH extramodules-3.1-ARCH

I guess that I need to change something within the catalyst-utils package from the repository.
Can somebody tell me what I need to change w.r.t normal installation or where to find the info.

Thanks

Re: Lost of hardware acceleration (ati)

Did you reboot after updating the kernel?

I had the same problem, make sure you have the same version of the kernel, and the headers:

pacman -Q linux linux-headers

Re: Lost of hardware acceleration (ati)

Thanks for the reply.

@karol: Yes I did reboot several times trying different settings, since I was confused by this new extramodules concept. (I haven't had the chance to update the system for about 4 months)

@WishCow: I have checked the header and indeed found that it was missing, but still after installing the headers, rebooting and reinstalling catalyst /catalyst-utils the error stays.

Re: Lost of hardware acceleration (ati)

I solved it installing catalyst-generator and generating my own module.
